November 21,  2012 we flew to
 Hanoi, Vietnam.

Here is the World Renowned
Resting Place of Ho Chi Minh.
He was the leader of North Vietnam
for more than 50 years. Also he was
the real driving force which the
unified Vietnamese state would
never have been achieved. Born
May 19, 1890 and Died September 02, 1969.

This is a picture of his home
 which was very simple and
 uncluttered.
This a picture of one of his three
 vehicles which is a Peugeot.

There is a wish of good fortune and good luck!
With Tortoises and they live a very long life.
There is also a pond where two
tortoises live today.. to bring good luck!

These two pictures are from a world known Water Puppet Show in Hanoi.

Focus your eyes really closely....can you see how the Vietnamese
load up a moped?

Stay tuned for our next post about Ha Long Bay, Sapa and Cat Cat in Northern Vietnam.

  1. Merry Christmas Ernie and Bill! Glad it's warm there. I'm freezing! Love your photos! How about one with Ernie riding the elephant? Do they celebrate New Years at the same date as here? Anyways, Happy New Year! Big Hugs from Steve in Vancouver.

  2. So today's my birthday (Christmas Eve). It's a bad time to have a birthday. I can't get drunk or I'll be hung over on Christmas! What to do? But Merry Christmas anyways, even if I am hungover.
